True Colors
Materials: Acrylic Paint and Canvas
Year: 2016
Class: Art Foundation
This piece shows the way people can break away from the casual look of society and showing who they truly are. It could be through the way they talk or how they write or make their art. Everybody has their own color that expresses who they are. The shapes connected together on the bottom left shows the boring colors of others who choose not to show who they are. Going into the middle, the colors become brighter, showing that people are becoming more confident in expressing themselves. They eventually break off from the rest of the group to be their own color. This means a lot to me because I've been trying to express myself for the past few years because I've always been shy and quiet and it was time for me to come out of my shell and show who I am.

Evening Of Light
Materials: Water Color and Water Color Paper
Year: 2016
Class: Art Foundation
This piece shows the good times I used to have with my brother. My brother and I don't get along, like most siblings, so I try to remember the goods times I've had with him and catching lightning bugs was the first thing I thought of. I made this because I really wanted try test with water color and see what I could do. I also made this for my mom because she doesn't have much art work at her office desk and she said she'd like some so I made one with both my brother and I so she could be happy whoever she looked at it. To start out my piece, I experimented with water color and tested different ways and techniques. I drew out my idea on the water color paper and masked over the lines with masking tape. After I finished painting, I took off the tape and outlined the grass and lid with a drawing pen. I've never used watercolor before so this was a new and fun expirience.

The Frog King
Materials: Animation Plus
Year: 2016
Class: Art Foundations
The story behind this piece is about just a normal average frog is just enjoying his casual day until he meets a fairy and she turns him into the King of the Frogs. I've always been interested in animation and I'm hoping my future career can revolve around it, so what better way to start it out then by attempting one. I used the app Animation plus to do the animation and it was a really good app for most of the time. To give it a more "real" look, I animated the water in every slide by erasing the water lines and drawing them again, but in different spots and over time it got annoying, but I knew if I was patient it would turn out fine. The original idea for the animation was suppose to make it longer, but a new idea arose and that's how the ending went. Also in the original idea, it was suppose to be a girl skipping over the rocks and it had a different story line, but with the way the brushes were in the app, drawing people were really difficult.

You Can
Materials: Mat Board, Sticky Notes, Paint

Class: Art Foundations
A lot of teenagers and adults feel like they can't do something because of low self esteem. Most of the time people are able to solve their problems and get past it, but others don't. I made this to show others that don't believe that they can accomplish what they feel like they can't do by looking at what others have gone through and getting the confidence to over come what they can't get past. Some are just simple things, school things, and some are big issues that were solved. I've gone through some things that I felt like I couldn't do, but after attempting to fix them, I solved some of my problems to make my life a little bit better. All of these notes are from students and adults in my community. I asked them if they would write down a few words or a short story of how they felt like they couldn't do something, but over came it.
